Junior Seau might be pushing back his graduation date, again.
According to SI.com and other media outlets, Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli flew Seau into Foxborough earlier this afternoon.
Seau, who turns 40 next month, has left open a small window for return, saying that he woud only return to the Patriots to “finish what we didn’t finish last year.”
All indications are that the Patriots are on the verge of signing Seau (really, why would they fly him in this late in the season?).
While Junior Seau was only with the team for two seasons, he really earned my utmost respect. He showed class, determination, and always played 110% with an unmatched intensity. He may not be the fastest player, but he is smart, has great instincts, and is still a very good tackler. With Bruschi’s health up in the air (knee injury), Seau would be a good safety option, as he can do almost everything Bruschi does. Last year, I really felt he deserved a Pro Bowl selection, although that is in the past.
Hell, while we’re at it, lets bring back Otis Smith. We need the cornerback help, so why not? I heard he’s still in good shape.
