And reports of visits keep flying in from everywhere. Mike Reiss reports:
The Patriots are scheduled to host safeties Patrick Chung (Oregon), William Moore (Missouri) and Louis Delmas (Western Michigan) on pre-draft visits at Gillette Stadium, according to league sources.
So, come April 25th, safety definitely looks to be a priority for the Patriots. With the Patriots now hosting three safeties, they will likely adress the position sometime on the first day.
Of the three, William Moore probably intrigues me the most. Moore has the best size for strong safety of the three, but can also play free safety. In 2007, he was so dominant, and flashed such play-making abilities, that he reminded me of an Ed Reed. However, he had a huge dropoff in 2008.
Patrick Chung is a very fundamentally sound safety. He is an excellent tackler, making him a great last line of defense. He is quick, gets to the ball, and is very consistent. Definitely a safe pick.
Louis Delmas is an excellent leader with great instincts in coverage. He works to support the run, and isn’t afraid to step close to the line. He has very good straight line speed as well.
